The WesTrain Mission

WesTrain members will:

  1. Support improvement of human performance by:
  1. Targeting proper training.
  2. Analyzing performance problems and targeting proper interventions which will facilitate performance improvement.
  3. Partner with Line Management to foster their ownership of training programs.
  4. Establish a learning environment.
  1. Cooperate with other members to:
  1. Resolve common problems and issues.
  2. Share experience, resources and best practices.
  3. Provide products and services.
  1. Reduce costs through:
  1. Standardization of training programs.
  2. Economics of scale.
  1. Develop credibility with Regulators, INPO and peers by:
  1. Development and adoption of position statements.
  2. Collectively improving regulatory and safety performance.
  1. Establishing the highest standards and expectations for the performance of training duties.

WesTrain Core Values

Core Values determine how we make decisions, perform our work and treat others. By understanding and living these values we make decisions that support WesTrain goals.

SAFETY: Safety, both nuclear and industrial, is the overriding value of all aspects of our alliance.

INTEGRITY AND TRUST: Integrity and trust are the cornerstones of WesTrain strength. The character of our alliance is enhanced by our ability and willingness to discuss problems, results and achievements in an open, straightforward and candid manner.

  • We communicate openly and honestly with regulatory agencies, auditing groups, company, local, state and federal authorities and among ourselves.
  • We admit mistakes and encourage others to bring problems out in the open for discussion, review and resolution.

TEAMWORK: We place high value on teamwork at every level. Team effort must and will be the norm in pursuit of our objectives and goals. As an alliance we can be the best through mutual support, cooperation and constructive participation.

  • We review programs on a regular basis to be sure they are practical and making the best use of material and resources.

RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL: Talented, dedicated utility representatives are the alliances most important asset. Each participant is an important member of the WesTrain alliance team.
